Marilyn Reese Sheppard, a 30-year-old Caucasian woman, was brutally murdered in her home in Bay Village, Ohio, in the early hours of July 4, 1954. She was the wife of Dr. Samuel Sheppard, a prominent osteopath. Marilyn was bludgeoned to death in her bedroom, suffering between 20 and 30 blows to the head.
