In May 2007, the body of 26-year-old Whitnei Dubois was discovered by passersby at a rural crossroads five miles outside of Jennings in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana. Her naked body was the first of the 'Jennings 8' victims to be found on dry land, a detail that stood out in a string of cases where victims were more commonly found in canals or swamps. Although a significant amount of drugs were found in her system, an official cause of death for Dubois was never determined.
