In the Bronx in August of 1986, a man named Raymond Vizcaino was shot and killed. The male victim, identified as a crack dealer, was killed by a gunshot fired through an apartment door on Webster Avenue. This act was part of a robbery attempt.
The investigation into Vizcaino's death led authorities to suspect Larry Davis and his older brother, Eddie Davis. In January 1987, Eddie Davis was arrested and charged with the murder. He was subsequently convicted in June 1989.
Larry Davis, who had gained notoriety for a highly publicized shootout with police in November 1986, also stood trial for Vizcaino's murder.
Larry Davis's trial for the murder of Raymond Vizcaino began five months after his brother's conviction. In March 1991, a jury found him guilty. At the time of this conviction, Davis was already serving a sentence of 5 to 15 years for weapons convictions. For the murder of Vizcaino, he received an additional sentence of 25 years to life.
