Carolyn Barney, a 29-year-old Black woman, tragically lost her life on May 27, 1987. Her body was discovered in a vacant lot located in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The circumstances surrounding her death were deeply distressing, as she had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Witnesses reported seeing her in the company of Louis Craine, an unemployed construction worker, shortly before her death.
