Desiree Thompson, a 30-year-old resident of California City, California, disappeared on January 7, 2012. She was last seen leaving her home to visit a friend. For over a decade, her case remained unsolved until March 2022, when a tip led investigators to the former home of Jose William Lara. During the search, they found human remains in the backyard and blood inside the master bedroom, later confirmed to be Thompson's.
