George W. Wall, a 45-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, served as the sheriff of San Augustine County, Texas. He was born on June 12, 1854, in Gonzales, Texas. On April 21, 1900, Sheriff Wall was fatally shot in the back with a shotgun by Lycurgus "Curg" Border in downtown San Augustine. The shooting occurred in front of witnesses, and Sheriff Wall succumbed to his injuries later that day.
