John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. He was 46 years old at the time of his death. Kennedy was fatally shot while riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza. The shots were fired from the nearby Texas School Book Depository by Lee Harvey Oswald, a former U.S. Marine. Kennedy was pronounced dead about 30 minutes after the shooting at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
