Chief Jesus Rosalez Jr., aged 34, was the Chief of Police for the Elsa Police Department in Texas. On October 30, 1982, he responded to a disturbance call involving a man who was refusing to exit another man's truck. When Chief Rosalez asked the suspect to leave the vehicle, the suspect opened fire, fatally shooting Chief Rosalez. In return fire, Chief Rosalez managed to kill the suspect. The suspect was carrying $10,000 in cash and was wanted in Mexico for the murder of a Mexican federal office ...
