Danielle Nicole Hensley, a 17-year-old Caucasian female, was tragically found murdered on August 26, 2007, at a friend's house in Jonestown, Texas. Born on January 30, 1990, in Georgetown, Texas, Danielle was known for her loving and caring nature. She spent much of her time working with special needs children and those less fortunate. Danielle had aspirations of becoming a medical interpreter for the deaf and wanted to continue working with handicapped children. She was an incredibly loving sister to her younger brother Cameron, who is autistic, and had a close relationship with her family and friends.
On the weekend of her death, Danielle was staying at the home of Paula Griffith, a 46-year-old woman, and her 15-year-old daughter, Haylie Faulkner, in Jonestown. The three were planning to visit Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio before the start of the new school year. However, when Danielle's parents did not hear from her over the weekend, they became concerned and contacted the police. Upon entering the Griffith residence, police discovered the bodies of Danielle, Paula, and Haylie, all of whom had been shot to death.
The suspect in the killings, Paul Devoe, a 43-year-old male, was arrested in Long Island, New York, on August 27, 2007. Devoe had briefly dated Paula Griffith but had not been in a relationship with her for about a year at the time of the murders. In addition to the Jonestown killings, Devoe was also suspected of murdering a bartender named Michael Allred in Marble Falls, Texas, and a woman named Betty Jane Dehart in Pennsylvania. Devoe's killing spree left a total of six people dead and many unanswered questions for the families and friends of the victims.
Danielle's death deeply affected her family, who remembered her as a loving and compassionate individual. Her parents, Christina and Darryl Gribble, and her siblings, Brandon and Cameron, were devastated by the loss. A memorial service was held in her honor, and contributions were made in her name to the Autism Society of America. The community mourned the loss of Danielle, Paula, and Haylie, and their memories continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
