Lindsey Ann Wadkins, a 29-year-old woman from Jourdanton, Texas, tragically lost her life on June 18, 2014. She was born on August 30, 1984, and was known for her artistic talents and her love for her daughter, Callie. Lindsey was a caring and loving individual who had an Associate’s degree from Coastal Bend College. Her untimely death deeply affected her family and friends.
The investigation into Lindsey's death revealed that she was found on the side of Taylor Road, about a mile
north of Jourdanton, by a passing motorist. The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office, assisted by Texas Rangers, worked tirelessly on the case. Within days, they arrested Naomi Delgado, 24, of Jourdanton, on a charge of murder. However, the alleged shooter, John Bryan Finch, 29, of Charlotte, was still at large.
As the investigation continued, the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office announced a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to Finch's arrest. Despite their efforts, Finch remained on the run, and the investigation remained active with the possibility of additional arrests. The Sheriff's Office emphasized that there was no evidence linking Lindsey's murder to any gangs or other recent homicides in the area.
In August 2016, a Grand Jury indicted three individuals in connection with Lindsey's murder. Alongside Naomi Delgado, John Bryan Finch and Samantha Hurt Jones were also indicted and faced charges. The case drew significant attention, and the community awaited the arraignment and formal charges against the suspects.
Lindsey's death left a lasting impact on her family and the community, and the pursuit of justice for her continues to be a priority for law enforcement.
