Crystal Ann Cuellar, a 33-year-old woman from Jarrell, Texas, tragically died on June 9, 2015. Her body was discovered in a grassy field near Interstate 35 in Jarrell. Cuellar was dating Erasmo Reyes, 41, and lived with him and his roommate, Juan Nuno, 29, in an apartment in Austin.

On the night of her death, Nuno heard a noise in Reyes' room and saw him come out with a pistol in his hand. Reyes claimed that Cuellar had shot herself, but he wanted to dispose of the body due to outstanding warrants and drugs in his house. Reyes, Nuno, and another man, identified only as Eduardo, wrapped Cuellar's body in a blanket with accelerant and placed it in the bed of a truck. They drove north on I-35 but had to stop due to a flat tire near Jarrell. Nuno helped remove Cuellar's body from the truck and dumped it on the side of the road, setting it on fire.

Both Reyes and Nuno were arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence. Investigators believe that other arrests may follow as the case continues to unfold.

The tragic circumstances surrounding Crystal Ann Cuellar's death highlight the complexities and heartbreak of such cases, leaving a lasting impact on her loved ones and the community.
