On the evening of September 30, 2010, Darren Thomas, a 36-year-old aspiring chemist and father, drove his 2004 Mercury Marquis and parked at Windsor Park, located at 1501 Angelica in St. Louis. Shortly after exiting his vehicle around 6:13 p.m., he was involved in an altercation with unknown individuals. During the course of the argument, gunshots rang out, and Darren Thomas was struck by multiple bullets.
