Dereck Pierre Lawton, a 44-year-old male of Black ethnicity, tragically died on July 16, 2016, in Houston, TX. Lawton was fatally shot in his apartment at 7812 Tierwester around 12:10 a.m. on July 17, 2016. According to the Houston Police Department, an unknown suspect or suspects forcibly entered Lawton's apartment and demanded property. During the incident, Lawton was shot, and the suspects fled the scene.
