Jaime Lizandro Vargas, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on August 23, 2016, in Pharr, Texas. The incident occurred during an argument involving a woman at the 400 block of East Egly Avenue. According to the preliminary investigation, 66-year-old Aniceto Sanchez Jr., who was romantically involved with the woman and is her ex-husband, shot Vargas during the altercation. Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jaime “Jerry” Munoz.
