Stephanie Hope Redmon, a 48-year-old woman from Normangee, Texas, tragically passed away on January 23, 2018. The Leon County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 19081 FM 3 outside of Normangee around 5:40 p.m. that evening for a report of two deceased individuals. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Stephanie and her husband, 63-year-old Michael Lee Redmon, both with gunshot wounds.
The sheriff's office initially investigated the incident as a possible murder-suicide.
The bodies were sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation revealed that both Stephanie and Michael appeared to have died from gunshot wounds, leading authorities to believe that it was a murder-suicide. However, no further arrests or suspects were identified in connection with the case.
The tragic incident left the community in shock, as Stephanie was remembered fondly by her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Sissy Clark, her father, Raymond Morris, her stepfather, J.W. Clark, her stepmother, Patricia Morris, her brother, Kevin Morris, her sister, Megan Morris, and her beloved dogs, Bella and Jack. A memorial service was held on February 17, 2018, at Hillier Funeral Home in College Station, Texas.
The case remains a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the impact of such tragedies on families and communities. The Leon County Sheriff's Office continues to monitor the case, but no further developments have been reported since the initial investigation.
