Jack Tabor, a 45-year-old male from Cisco, Texas, was tragically killed on December 27, 2018. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Doyle Seabourn, a 50-year-old retired police officer, went to find his estranged wife at her apartment in Cisco. Upon arrival, Seabourn found Jack Tabor, who was dating his estranged wife, at the apartment.
An argument and physical altercation ensued, during which Seabourn shot and killed Tabor before fatally shooting himself.
The Texas Rangers investigated the case and confirmed that it was a murder-suicide. Seabourn had worked for the Eastland County Sheriff's Office and the Cisco Police Department before retiring about six months prior to the incident. The motive behind the tragic event was linked to Seabourn's estranged wife and her relationship with Tabor.
Funeral arrangements for Jack Tabor were made shortly after his death. Visitation was held at Parker Funeral Home in Baird, and graveside services took place at Dennis Cemetery, south of Moran. The community mourned the loss of Tabor, who was remembered by friends and family.
The incident did not lead to any further arrests or litigations, as the primary suspect, Doyle Seabourn, had taken his own life after committing the murder. The case was closed following the investigation by the Texas Rangers, who confirmed the sequence of events and the motive behind the murder-suicide.
