On January 10, 2019, Nichol Leila Olsen, a 37-year-old woman, was found dead alongside her two daughters, 16-year-old Alexa Denice Montez and 10-year-old London Sophia Bribiescas, in a luxury home in the gated Anaqua Springs Ranch community near Boerne, Texas. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the girls were shot to death, while Olsen's death was ruled a suicide.
However, the case remains under investigation by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, as there are still unanswered questions.
Olsen's boyfriend, Charles Wheeler, discovered the bodies and called 911. According to cellphone records, Olsen made multiple calls to 911 before Wheeler's call, but the calls were disconnected. Wheeler claimed he had an argument with Olsen the night before and spent the night at a friend's house. When he returned home the next morning, he found the bodies and immediately called for help.
Despite the initial belief that it was a murder-suicide, Sheriff Javier Salazar has not ruled out the possibility of foul play. The investigation has faced challenges, including a lack of leads or witnesses. Wheeler has been named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Alexa's father, Carlos Montez Jr., who alleges gross negligence on Wheeler's part.
The tragic incident has left the community and the families of the victims searching for answers. The case remains open, and authorities continue to explore all possible angles to determine what truly happened on that fateful day.
