In the early morning hours of September 9, 2013, homicide investigators in St. Louis, Missouri, were alerted to a violent incident that began with reports of gunfire. Police originally responded to a call regarding a shooting on the 8400 block of Halls Ferry Road around 2:05 a.m. Upon arrival at that initial location, officers were unable to locate a victim, prompting a wider search of the surrounding area in the dark, quiet streets of the Baden neighborhood.
