In the early hours of a Sunday morning in August 2015, the life of 23-year-old Dorain Kawane Valentine was tragically cut short in North St. Louis. His body was discovered behind a residence on the 2500 block of Semple Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on August 2nd. The young man, a male, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The St. Louis police were called to the scene and immediately began a homicide investigation. At the time, his death marked one of the city's numerous homicides that year.
