Shirley Diana Weatherley-Barrington, a 72-year-old woman from Azle, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2021. Shirley was born on January 4, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up in a loving family with five siblings. She was known for her talents as a business owner, entrepreneur, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Shirley had a passion for music, gardening, and sewing, and she was always there for her family and friends.

Tragically, Shirley's death was not due to natural causes. She was found dead in the front yard of her home in Springtown, Texas, and an autopsy revealed that she had been killed by a gunshot to the chest. The investigation into her death led to the arrest of Clayton Strong, a 73-year-old man, who was wanted for the murder. Strong was arrested in Mexico on charges of unlawful possession of weapons, and he will be extradited to Parker County to face formal charges for Shirley's murder.

The case drew attention due to prior domestic disputes between Shirley and Strong, and video footage showed Strong disposing of a weapon on the day of the murder. The Parker County Sheriff’s Office and Mexican authorities worked together to apprehend Strong and bring him to justice.

Shirley's family and friends have been deeply affected by her loss, but they hope that justice will be served for her untimely death. Shirley's legacy lives on through her family, including her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who remember her fondly for her joyful spirit and loving nature.
