On September 14, 2021, Connie Lynn Helms, a 59-year-old woman from Kaufman, Texas, tragically lost her life. She was fatally shot by her mother, Margaret Ann Johnston, who was 80 years old at the time. The incident occurred at their rural home in Kaufman County and was described by authorities as a domestic disturbance. Johnston allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot Helms in the shoulder area, leading to her death.
