Deputy Sheriff Thomas S. Blair, aged 35, was shot and killed on January 29, 1911, in Madisonville, Tennessee. Blair, who had served with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for two years, was attempting to break up a disturbance in a local tavern when he was fatally shot in the head.
