Detective Lynn Wayne Hicks, aged 35, was a dedicated officer with the Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee. On May 22, 1999, Detective Hicks responded to a domestic disturbance call, although he was not specifically dispatched to the scene. He was in the area and decided to assist.
