Steve Hinkle, a 65-year-old white male, died on February 23, 2019, in Blountville, Tennessee. Hinkle was a sergeant with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office and had served for over 30 years. On the day of his death, deputies responded to a residence at 3606 Highway 11W to conduct a welfare check on an occupant.
