Caroline McCall, a 31-year-old female, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, following a tragic domestic violence incident in La Vergne, Tennessee. A thoughtful and kind woman, she was known for her humor, wit, and deep love for her children. For two years, she had been a school bus driver for the Rutherford County school district, serving the La Vergne primary, elementary, and middle schools.
The incident that led to her death occurred on a Sunday afternoon at her home on Heritage
Circle. Her husband, 38-year-old Joshua McCall, shot her multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. Emergency services transported Caroline to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but she succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Joshua McCall was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The La Vergne Police Department investigated the case as an attempted murder-suicide. Due to the death of the sole suspect, no arrests were made in connection with Caroline McCall's death. She was preceded in death by her estranged husband, Joshua McCall.
