In the winter of 2019, the community of Union City, Tennessee, was shaken by the sudden and violent death of Semika Shontrell Davis. On the night of Thursday, December 5th, the 37-year-old woman was discovered lying in the street in the 700 block of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but it was too late; Davis was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.
