In a quiet community in Athens, Tennessee, the life of 24-year-old Skylar Hawn was tragically cut short on September 25, 2021. On that day, she and three other individuals, 36-year-old Trevon Hall, 40-year-old Jesse Dupree, and 39-year-old Brandi Harris, were found deceased at a residence in Riceville. The grim discovery launched an investigation into a quadruple homicide that stemmed from a custody dispute.
The events unfolded when Jazzmine Jacole Hall and her co-defendant, Curtis D.
Smith, arrived at the home. An altercation broke out between Jazzmine Hall and Trevon Hall over their 10-month-old child. This dispute escalated into a violent confrontation that resulted in the shooting deaths of the four victims. Following the shootings, Jazzmine Hall and Curtis Smith fled the scene with the infant. Two other individuals who were present at the residence managed to survive the attack and alert the authorities.
The subsequent investigation led to the apprehension of Jazzmine Hall and Curtis Smith. In April 2024, as jury selection for her trial was about to commence, Jazzmine Jacole Hall, then 29, pleaded guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and arson. She was sentenced to four consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of release. Her co-defendant, Curtis D. Smith, also faced justice for his role in the heinous crime. He was convicted and sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without parole.
