Marquisa Antionette Turner, 33, a Black woman, was killed on the night of December 27, 2022, after gunfire tore through her family’s home on North 17th Avenue in Humboldt, Tennessee. Police were dispatched around 9:52 p.m.; officers and medics found Turner with a gunshot wound, and she was taken to the West Tennessee Healthcare Milan emergency room, where she was pronounced dead. Investigators processed the scene late into the night, and her body was later sent to the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center for autopsy.
Within two days, Humboldt police announced an arrest: 44-year-old Courtney Bushun Dickey was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
