Trooper Ronald L. Carey, aged 29, was a dedicated and solemn officer with the Delaware State Police. On January 5, 1972, Trooper Carey and his partner, Trooper David C. Yarrington, attempted to apprehend two suspects involved in a hold-up at the Concord Motel on U.S. Route 202 in Johnson's Corner, Pennsylvania.
