In the early morning hours of July 7, 2011, the life of 18-year-old David Wayne Raisch-Day, a male from Cass Lake, Minnesota, was tragically cut short in Minneapolis. A sanitation worker on their route made the grim discovery in an alley in the 2500 block between Polk and Taylor streets NE and immediately contacted the authorities. When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Raisch-Day unresponsive, having sustained what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the location.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office subsequently ruled his death a homicide, confirming that he had died from a gunshot wound.
