John Joseph Gillette, a 48-year-old male teacher of unspecified ethnicity, was fatally shot on April 24, 1998, at a school dance held at Nick's Place in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. The tragic incident occurred during an 8th-grade dinner dance at James Parker Middle School, where Gillette was a popular science teacher.
