William Michael Sharkey, a 49-year-old male of unspecified ethnicity, was found dead on October 24, 1998, in the trunk of his car on National Park Drive in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Pennsylvania. The location was approximately 16 miles from his home in Pocono Township, where he lived with his wife and son. Sharkey, a former professional boxer from Howard Beach, Queens, New York, had retired and moved to Pocono Township.
