On March 9, 2014, 22-year-old Britian Byrd, a Black male from Chester, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 700 block of West 9th Street, a residential area in Chester. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Byrd suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
