On October 29, 2014, Tara Sherri Bouie, a 42-year-old woman, was found shot dead in her home on Tenacity Trail in Mars, Pennsylvania. Her body was discovered by family members who had become concerned for her welfare and went to check on her. The 5-month-old baby was found unharmed next to her. Police determined that Bouie had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation into Bouie's death revealed that her boyfriend, Kenneth Harrison, was arrested at the same home in
September 2014 in connection with a separate homicide. Harrison was charged with the murder of Tyrone Tomman, a member of the Pittsburgh Gentlemen motorcycle club, who was killed in a shootout outside Art's Tavern in the Strip District earlier that year. Harrison was identified as one of the shooters.
State police in Butler County, along with assistance from Pittsburgh's homicide squad, conducted a thorough investigation. They canvassed the neighborhood, interviewed associates of Bouie, and followed up on leads. Despite the connections to Harrison and the previous SWAT incident at the home, police have not publicly labeled Bouie's death as a case of retaliation. No arrests have been made in connection with her murder, and the investigation remains open.
