Earl Woodyard Jr., a 68-year-old retired Pittsburgh deputy police chief, died on April 6, 2015, from a gunshot wound to the head at his home in Baldwin Borough, Pittsburgh, PA. An autopsy concluded that his death was a suicide. Woodyard had a long and distinguished career with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, spanning over 30 years.
