Nijah Carpenter, a 31-year-old black male from Chester, PA, was tragically found dead on January 21, 2017. He was discovered unresponsive in a red car in the 500 block of East 11th Street. Police were alerted by individuals who saw Carpenter in the car and thought he was passed out. Upon arrival, officers found blood around his mouth and chest and realized he had suffered a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
