On July 5, Jimi Patrick was the first to be murdered by DiNardo after a failed drug deal. Two days later, Dean Finocchiaro and Thomas Meo were also killed. Mark Sturgis and Thomas Meo were murdered on July 7 when they arrived at the farm to buy marijuana. DiNardo ran out of bullets and used a backhoe to kill Meo and bury both him and Sturgis in a 12-foot-deep grave.
Cosmo DiNardo was arrested on July 10, 2017, after attempting to sell Meo's car. He confessed to the murders and implicated Sean Katz, who was later found guilty of first-degree murder for Finocchiaro's death and manslaughter for the deaths of Sturgis and Meo. DiNardo pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and received four consecutive life sentences.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear, with DiNardo claiming he felt cheated or threatened during the drug transactions. The case drew significant media attention and was dubbed the "Lost Boys of Bucks County" due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearances and murders.
In the aftermath, the families of the victims filed wrongful death lawsuits against DiNardo's parents, alleging negligence for providing him access to weapons and equipment. The lawsuits were settled with a confidential agreement in 2023.
