In the late hours of a Tuesday evening, the community of West Mifflin was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of a long-time resident. William B. Mosby Sr., a 62-year-old Black male, was discovered in a parking lot on the 1800 block of Homeville Road on May 28, 2019. He had been fatally shot. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 9:30 p.m.
The West Mifflin police promptly initiated an investigation into the shooting death of Mr. Mosby. Authorities, however, were not immediately forthcoming with details regarding the circumstances of the incident. In the days and weeks that followed, no information about potential suspects or any arrests made in connection with the case was publicly released.
To date, the investigation into the death of William B. Mosby Sr. remains ongoing. No arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified in the years since his death. The case continues to be an open investigation, leaving a void in the community and unanswered questions for the family and friends of Mr. Mosby, who remembered him as a gas supply supervisor for Peoples Natural Gas.
