Candy Bidlack, a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother known for her
selfless and kind nature, was the first victim in a rampage carried out by her own son, 31-year-old Jesse Lee Northrup. The Bradford County Coroner's investigation revealed that Candy was tragically surprised by her killer and died from a single gunshot wound to the face. Her life, filled with a love for crafting, poetry, and her family, was cut short in an act of unimaginable violence.
Following the murder of his mother, Jesse Northrup continued his deadly path, turning the gun on his stepfather, 54-year-old Edwin Bidlack Jr., and a family friend and employee, 48-year-old Johnnie Johnson. Both men were found killed execution-style, each with a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. The bodies of the three victims were discovered in separate locations within the residence. After carrying out the triple homicide, Northrup then took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The motive behind the heinous crime appeared to be linked to Northrup's personal struggles.
