Yusuf McNeal, an 18-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Philadelphia, tragically lost his life on December 1, 2020, in Morrisville, PA. He was fatally shot in the chest during a dispute between two groups at the Commons at Fallsington in Falls Township. McNeal was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Three other teenagers, aged 15, 16, and 17, were also shot but survived and were treated at Jefferson Bucks Hospital.

The investigation into McNeal's death revealed that the shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. and involved multiple people firing shots. A vehicle connected to one of the groups was found at the Alexandria Apartments near the shooting scene. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office stated that the shooting was a result of a dispute over money.

In June 2021, 16-year-old William Mathell Hunter from Bensalem Township was charged with voluntary manslaughter, conspiracy to commit voluntary manslaughter, robbery, possession of a firearm, and related offenses. Hunter allegedly fired the shot that killed McNeal. According to court documents, Hunter and four other teenagers planned to rob McNeal and another man by selling them stolen guns. The group intended to hand over a backpack filled with bricks instead of guns and then flee with the money. Hunter's .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun was used in the shooting, and he had purchased the gun illegally.

Hunter waived his right to a preliminary hearing, and the investigation continued with the assistance of surveillance video and witness statements. The case highlighted the dangers of illegal firearms and the tragic consequences of disputes escalating into violence.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and Falls Township police continued to investigate the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. The community was left mourning the loss of McNeal and grappling with the impact of such senseless violence.
