Correctional Officer Rhonda Jean Russell, aged 47, tragically died on November 17, 2021, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She was a dedicated corrections officer at Blair County Prison, having served for 16 years. Rhonda was escorting inmates to the Central Court building when a male inmate, Christopher Aikens, attacked and disarmed her during a struggle for her firearm.
