Gary Duane Bradley, a 44-year-old Caucasian male from Williamstown, West Virginia, was murdered on April 5, 1992, while fishing at the Ohio Power Recreational Area in Noble County, Ohio. Bradley was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was shot in the back twice by a serial killer who had previously waved at him as he drove by. This killer, Thomas Lee Dillon, ambushed Bradley and four other men between 1989 and 1992, all of whom were engaged in outdoor activities.
Several months after Bradley's death, a task force consisting of officials from five counties and the FBI connected the five murders. Thomas Dillon was arrested the day after Thanksgiving in 1992. Dillon, who had a high-powered rifle and claimed to have set 160 fires during his killing spree, eventually took a plea bargain to avoid the death penalty. He was sentenced to 165 years in prison for the murders and gun specification charges. Dillon died in prison on October 21, 2011.
