Jason West, a 31-year-old Caucasian male, was a dedicated officer with the Cleveland Heights Police Department in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. On May 25, 2007, Officer West responded to a disturbance call on Altamont Road. As he stepped out of his vehicle, he was shot three times by Timothy Halton Jr., a 27-year-old mentally ill man who had previously expressed a desire to kill a police officer. Tragically, Officer West succumbed to his injuries later that day.
