On December 1, 2011, authorities in Detroit, Michigan, initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery of a body at a residence on the city's northwest side. The victim was identified as David Bowen, a 31-year-old Black male. Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the location at 16501 Griggs Street, a residential property situated in a neighborhood near the intersection of Puritan Avenue and Wyoming Avenue.
