On May 25, 2016, 25-year-old Charles Herrod, an African American male, was fatally shot multiple times in the chest around 1:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of East 151st Street, near Harvard Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. According to reports, an unidentified man in a red car began shooting at Charles Herrod. In response, Charles Herrod exited his Pontiac G6 on East 151st Street and returned fire but was struck during the exchange.
He succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
At the time of the shooting, three other individuals were inside Charles Herrod's vehicle: an 18-year-old man, a woman, and a 13-year-old boy. Fortunately, the woman and the teenager were not injured during the incident. The relationship between these passengers and Charles Herrod was not specified in the available reports.
As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Charles Herrod. The suspect remains unidentified, and authorities continue to seek information from the public to aid in their investigation.
