Phillip Banks, a 19-year-old Euclid resident, tragically lost his life on July 17, 2016, during a "Stop the Violence" rally held at Sims Park Beach in Euclid, Ohio. The rally was organized by residents to address and combat violence in the community. During the event, an unknown assailant opened fire, resulting in Phillip Banks' death and a severe injury to a 12-year-old boy who was shot in the back. The young boy was hospitalized and is recovering from his injuries.
