Christopher Edward Bridges, a 22-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Youngstown, OH, was tragically found shot to death inside his home on Republic Avenue on January 25, 2017. He had recently moved back to Youngstown from Rochester, NY, where he had been living with his father. Christopher was passionate about baseball and had dreams of making it big, but his life was cut short just as he was starting to settle back into his hometown.
The investigation into Christopher's
death has been challenging for the Youngstown police. Despite finding some physical evidence at the crime scene and submitting it to the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, the case went cold quickly due to a lack of witnesses coming forward. Detective Sgt. Dave Sweeney, the lead investigator, mentioned that without a witness or new information, it has been difficult to make an arrest or secure a conviction.
Christopher's older sister, Breanna Bridges, has been vocal about seeking justice for her brother. She believes that Christopher knew the person who shot him and has made several public pleas for anyone with information to come forward. Breanna has expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the case and continues to hope for answers.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains open. The family continues to seek closure and justice for Christopher, hoping that one day, the person responsible for his death will be brought to justice.
