Mykel Turner, a 27-year-old male from Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2018, due to a fatal shooting in East Price Hill. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering gunshot wounds. A second victim was also shot in the shoulder but survived and was transported to UC Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation led to the arrest of Scott Adams, a 22-year-old male, who was charged with murder in the death of Turner and also faced charges of felonious
assault. Adams was arrested nearly a month after the incident and was held on a $2 million bond. The case was still under investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit, and Adams' next court hearing was scheduled for August 3, 2018.
The circumstances of the shooting suggested that Turner and the second victim were in a black SUV near the intersection of Wells Street and Price Avenue, possibly responding to a meeting. Police believed that Adams was responsible for the shooting and continued to seek information from the public to aid in their investigation.
The tragic death of Mykel Turner and the subsequent arrest of Scott Adams highlighted the ongoing issue of gun violence in Cincinnati and the efforts of law enforcement to bring perpetrators to justice. The community was urged to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
