Nina Houston, an 87-year-old woman from Twinsburg, Ohio, tragically died on November 18, 2019. She was found dead at her home on Ridgewood Court along with her husband, John B. Houston Jr., who was also 87 years old. The couple was discovered by relatives who had become concerned after not hearing from them. Nina Houston was terminally ill, and her husband, John Houston Jr., left a note stating that he couldn't live without her. Consequently, he took her life and then his own.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office conducted autopsies and confirmed that Nina Houston died from a gunshot wound to the head, ruling her death a homicide. John Houston Jr.'s death was ruled a suicide, also due to a gunshot wound to the head. The Twinsburg Police Department, along with the medical examiner's office, investigated the case but did not find any further evidence of foul play or other suspects.
There were no arrests, suspects, or ongoing litigations related to Nina Houston's death. The investigation concluded that it was a murder-suicide, with John Houston Jr. taking both their lives. The couple's ethnicity was not disclosed in the reports.
