On August 12, 2020, Romere Harris, a 2-year-old boy from Columbus, OH, tragically died after being shot in the head by his 14-year-old uncle, Charles Hodge Jr. Romere was at home with his uncle, who was babysitting him and his 1-year-old niece while their mother was out getting food. Charles Hodge Jr. admitted to handling a gun when it discharged, striking Romere. Despite attempts at CPR, Romere was pronounced dead at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
